Official Opening of New Facilities by Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Dame Mary Fagan

With our new secure document destruction facility and warehouse for hard storage being officially opened by Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Dame Mary Fagan DCVO JP, it marks an exciting new era for Box-it that could not have been achieved without the loyal support of our clients over the past 25 years.

Over 80 people attended our event, including partners, local dignitaries and clients. The occasion commemorated our investment in further expansion projects due to an increased demand for both our physical and digital services. We have invested over £1.5million in the past two years to ensure that we offer you the best service possible and now employ over 150 staff at our Winchester site alone.

Our secure shredding facility has the capacity for some 100 tonnes of shredding per month, this is then recycled into new paper based products such as tissue paper. Significantly, the new warehouse increases storage capacity by 20% giving us the scope to store a further 350,000 archive boxes! This will come in handy as on the same day, Royal Mail handed over the 2 millionth box to go into active storage with us!

Simon McCowen, Chairman of Box-it Group Ltd, said “Continual investment in people and infrastructure has kept Box-it as the preferred supplier to many blue chip companies, local businesses and government agencies.” He then went on to thank everyone for attending our event.

As well as the official opening, the day also consisted of tours of the facilities, presentations by key members of staff and live demonstrations of both Omnidox and our new service, Omnidox Records Manager.

We would like to say a very big thank you to all that attended the event. We thoroughly enjoyed showing everyone around our facilities and allowing them to see just what happens to, not only the archive boxes that they put in to store with us, but also our scanning and data capture procedures and our new ‘shredding shed’!

We have had some brilliant feedback in regards to the event, our service and our site  and it does seem that everyone took pleasure in attending the day.

If you wish to attend a similar event in the future or have any comments on the day, please do not hesitate to contact us on either 01962 830 200 or marketing@boxit.co.uk

Once again, a very big Thank You from us for your continuing support!
